About Us

Our Story

Slate Salon was built by Armand O’Barton and his father 50 Years ago. Then it was a
barber shop. When Armand retired, he sold it and the name was changed to Lamprey Waves. After 5 years of ownership, Kathryn Piecuch purchased the salon and changed it’s name to Lamprey Waves Hair Salon. Later wanting her own name and a clean slate, Slate Salon was born!! We had hopes of expanding, but we were so happy with renovation, we decided to keep it personal and quaint. And we listened to our customers, bigger is not always better.
